Need More Runners for GRTC Marathon Relay Teams

Runners Needed for Marathon Relay Teams:  Sign Up Before Sept. 8th We need a few more runners for fill out the rosters of the GRTC-sponsored Rochester Marathon Relay Teams.  GRTC members of all abilities and ages are welcome to join one of the GRTC teams.  The final deadline for completing your entry on a team has been extended to September 8th.  Contact Team Coordinator Tom Perry (585-410-0584; This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it ) as soon as possible for more information and to sign up. The Club will pay half of the team entry fee (i.e., half of the $180 fee) and will provide a GRTC singlet to each runner who needs one.  Members of each four-person team will pay $22.50 each as their share of the team entry fee. The Rochester Marathon Relay (www.rochestermarathon.com) is on September 12th.  Four-person teams run four legs of 6.0 to 7.5 miles.  Shuttle buses are provided to drop off and pick up runners at the exchange points.  The GRTC will sponsor up to three teams, limited to one team per category.  Marathon team categories are Male Open, Female Open, and Mixed Open; Male Masters, Female Masters, and Mixed Masters.  In 2009 GRTC teams placed 5th and 6th among 116 teams in the Rochester Marathon Relay.  GRTC Team #1 finished in 3:26:43 and was the winning team in the Mixed Open category.  GRTC 50 Plus, with all runners over 50 years of age, finished 2nd in the Male Masters category in 3:27:47.
