GRTC Masters Team Second Overall in Rochester Marathon

"GRTC Masters of the Universe" places second overall and first in category in the 2010 MVP Health Care Rochester Marathon.  Running in tribute to the late Mark Barry, the four-man Masters team finished the 26.2 miles in 2:57:30. Mark Barry (57) was the 55-59 Age Group Winner in the Rochester Runner of the Year Series the last two years.  He was leading the series again this year when he died suddenly in July 2010.  In 2009, Mark was the oldest and fastest member of the second place "Masters of the Universe" team in the Rochester Marathon.  The three surviving members of the 2009 team - Pat Miller, Steve Scott, and I recruited Mark’s brother Kevin (48) from NYC to join our team.  Kevin ran the first leg, the same one Mark did in 2009!  We ran under the sponsorship of GRTC and our team “GRTC - Masters of the Universe” was a tribute to the late Mark Barry because he came up with the name in 2009.
