Rochester Running Emus (formerly Marathon Training Group)
Inviting runners at every level to join us.
The Running Emus is a free, informal running team comprised of runners who have various running goals but a common commitment to encouraging, challenging and supporting one another as we make running fun. There is no charge to join our team. The only requirement: Come with a positive attitude and plan to have fun!
Whether you are a new runner or an experienced runner, our team welcomes you. Our philosophy is that running should be fun, challenging and life enhancing. Runners tend to be a generous group of people, always eager to support new or less experienced runners. Joining a running team capitalizes on this generosity creating a team spirit that helps individual runners share their collective experience, meet their individual running goals, and support each other along the way.
The Running Emus is a team comprised of individuals with a variety of personal goals. Some of the members of our team have specific training goals and some just like to run with the group for fun. Whatever your reason for running, we want to welcome you to be part of our team.
If you would like to run with us, visit our website http://sites.google.com/site/runningemus and click on “Upcoming Group Runs” to find out where to meet us, or you can contact us at the number/ email listed below.

It's just an easy 4 miler to start the weekend and get the weekly stress out. These runs go rain/shine/cold or snow and all year round. Bring friends and get the stress out.
On Tuesdays - its hill workout day starting at 6PM at Fleet Feet. These group hills are a great way to get them in with others so you don't have to bear it alone. We start at Fleet Feet and run towards Cobbs Hill where you can do repeats of your choice. Some even choose to just do the reservoir and that's perfectly fine. These too will last through the winter. Also, all speeds welcome!!
NEW Join us Saturdays at 8 AM for Distance Runs at Fleet Feet. Each week the distance varies but this week the course is a 6 or 10 mile option. Course provided as you arrive.

Flour City Hash House Harriers
Hashing is a worldwide phenomenon with more than 2500 clubs in more than 100 countries. The local club in Rochester is known as the Flour City Hash House Harriers. The Hash is a non-competitive, laid back group running for fun, socialization and beer. Hashing is commonly referred to as a drinking club with a running problem. Each week a person known as the hare designates a location for the hash and sets a trail for everyone else (hounds) to follow. There are refreshment stops on trail. Not everyone drinks, so Gatorade and water are also provided. We are generally trail runners, but a hash run can be set anywhere. WALKERS ARE WELCOME. Hash cash is $4. The Flour City Hash hotline is 555-381-8259. Press Mail Box 1.
