GRTC SPONSORSHIP OF RROY- For 2008 GRTC has taken a
larger role in the Rochester Runner of the Years series. While we have always
played a part, this year we will become a major sponsor of the series and
prizes.
GRTC PICNIC UPDATE- The Hawk shelter at Seneca Park
(near the zoo) has been reserved for Sunday August 10th from noon
until 8 pm. As a tentative plan we are looking to offer guided trail runs
around 12:30 and lunch following. Please keep an eye out for future updates and
a possible sign up or evite.
BOILERMAKER UPDATE- You will see the new news
featured here in our newsletter. A bus has been rented and plans are underway
for this years’ GRTC and FF bus trip to the party of the year. The busses are
large comfortable “Greyhound style” busses. The details remain to be determined
but the date is set.
WEBSITE UPDATE- The new website will have a new look
as well as some great new features. Members will be able to update their member
info such as address and email and will also be able to renew their membership
online. You can upload a photo of yourself, use the discussion board and check
the updated calendar for upcoming races and their results.
GREECE FREEZEROO-
Our Valentine’s day 8 miler in Greece will officially be know as the
Greece Valentine’s 8 miler “in memory of Tom Brannon”. A member wrote to us
with a request after his sad passing this year. The Greece race was chosen
since Tom was a Greece resident.
